Barry Jaenen always had a passion for home design. “I grew up in the family window business,” he says. “I came out of school and went right into the family business. I would do estimates in people’s homes and they would ask me about home design. I was told for years that I should go into construction full time.”
It wasn’t until 1989, however, that Jaenen decided to pursue that passion in the form of Full House Renovations.
“When I started the company, it was run out of my home. In 1999 I purchased a building and moved the business there – we are still there today. In 1999 I also started a custom millwork shop to manufacture our own cabinetry; 90 per cent of jobs have some form of millwork in them. All of this work is done in house. We have also gone into CNC machines. Our interior services cover kitchens, bathrooms, second story additions, basement development, exterior packages, windows and doors. On the exterior we offer stucco, siding, brick and stone. With our commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, we aim to bring your vision to life and create a space that reflects your style and needs perfectly. We utilize multiple software programs to achieve optimal results.”
Today Jaenen runs Full House Renovations alongside partners Greg Pointe and Ken Horhut. Pointe helps manage the business and the sales while Horhut manages operations and quality control.
From conception to completion, each project is handled with expertise and experience, various software programs and a two-person design team (architectural technologist and interior designer) who draw the floor plans and elevations and help clients select finishings.
Full House has not advertised for over 20 years, growing the business soley through word of mouth and referrals.
“We are proud of our repeat business and for not needing to advertise,” says Jaenen. “Some of our clients have been with us for 30 years and some are on their second or third homes with us. We are also working with the second generation of some of our clients. We create clients for life.”
Full House Renovations has carved a unique niche in the home renovation industry.
“Educating our clients is key,” Jaenen explains. “Renovations can be a maze for the inexperienced. Through open communication and transparency, we navigate this journey together, ensuring they’re prepared for the inevitable bumps along the way. We know that living through a renovation is no small feat. It means makeshift kitchens and daily life amidst construction. This can test patience as days turn into months. However, commitment to the process, from both client and contractor, makes all the difference. We treat each home as if it is our own. Respect for each client’s home and time is always at the forefront.

The most rewarding aspect for Jaenen, Pointe and Horhut is witnessing the transformation of a space from concept to completion.
